While this is a low-budget project we’re able to offer a thank-you fee of 200€ for each crew member.
Synopsis:
As part of a university project, Lena – a member of Germany’s third post-Holocaust generation – meets Holocaust survivor Sara Bialas.
What begins as a documentary conversation turns into a deeply personal exploration: What does it mean to take responsibility for the past today? Through Sara’s stories and conversations with her boyfriend, as well as her flatmates, Lena begins to confront her own history.
Background:
The film continues the story of the book project “Treffen mit Sara” and focuses on the encounter between Lena Müller (who illustrated the book) and Sara.
It’s about how Lena becomes a „ZweitZeugin“ („second witness“) and how this meeting leaves a mark on her inner world.
We are specifically looking for female crew members, as the original book project was accompanied exclusively by women. For the film, we want to create a safe and intimate space to tell this story.
