Film­net­zw­erk: Cof­fee Club with Tour­ing Artists

For the Film­net­zw­erk Berlin Cof­fee Club in Feb­ru­ary, Felix Sode­mann will be our guest and will intro­duce us to Tour­ing Artists, an infor­ma­tion por­tal for artists and cre­atives work­ing inter­na­tion­al­ly.

Tour­ing Artists pro­vides com­pre­hen­sive infor­ma­tion on visas/​residence, artist sta­tus and con­tracts, transport/​customs, tax­es, social secu­ri­ty, oth­er insur­ances, and copy­right.

The web­site www​.tour​ing​-artists​.info gives answers to ques­tions regard­ing inter­na­tion­al mobil­i­ty for artists, cre­atives and per­sons engaged in the cul­tur­al sec­tor. Tour­ing Artists pri­mar­i­ly maps the cir­cum­stances, legal reg­u­la­tions, and admin­is­tra­tive pro­ce­dures in Ger­many – for for­eign artists and cre­atives who work here tem­porar­i­ly and for Ger­many-based artists and cre­atives who work abroad for a lim­it­ed time. Since 2018, the project Inter­na­tion­al Artists Info Berlin (IAIB) aims at sup­port­ing artists, cre­atives and cul­ture pro­fes­sion­als who were forced to leave their home coun­tries due to the polit­i­cal sit­u­a­tion and are now resid­ing in Ger­many. A com­pre­hen­sive glos­sary, a mobil­i­ty library, infor­ma­tion con­cern­ing the Ger­man cul­tur­al land­scape, a col­lec­tion of coun­try-spe­cif­ic, Euro­pean and glob­al infor­ma­tion por­tals, an overview of artists’ res­i­den­cies as well as a data­base of more than 300 pro­grams in Ger­many sup­port­ing artist mobil­i­ty com­ple­ment the por­tal.

In addi­tion, Tour­ing Artists orga­nizes a month­ly meet-up, offers indi­vid­ual, free con­sul­ta­tions and helps with check­lists, ref­er­ences to fur­ther read­ing, con­tact per­sons and respon­si­ble offices in the rel­e­vant admin­is­tra­tions.

Dur­ing the Cof­fee Club, Felix Sode­mann will intro­duce us to the infor­ma­tion and advice offered by Tour­ing Artists and talk to us about what artists and cre­ative pro­fes­sion­als need to keep in mind when work­ing inter­na­tion­al­ly.

The Cof­fee Club is an open meet­ing for every­one in the film indus­try. After the intro­duc­tion of our guest, you will have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to ask ques­tions, exchange ideas and get to know each oth­er.
