DFFB PROJECTS
With our postgraduate programmes, the DFFB focuses on extented spezialisation within scriptwriting and post production but also in networking and collobaration between filmmakers.
The DFFB has always been an international institution—not only through the presence of students from all corners of the world, but through exchange programmes with international film schools. The DFFB has connections to the London Film School, La Fémis in Paris, Columbia University School of the Arts in New York, the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, FAMU in Prague, Łódź Film School, and the National Film School of Denmark.
Memeberships
The DFFB is a member of the following organisations: CILECT (the International Association of Film and Television Schools), the European association GEECT, media:net berlinbrandenburg, (a regional network of the media and digital economy in Berlin/Brandenburg), and ELIA (the association of European institutions of higher arts education).
Postgraduate Programmes
With the postgraduate programm SERIAL EYES, the DFFB is offering professional training with a focus on developing innovative television series in the Writers' Room. Networking between participants is a priority.
The FILMNETZWERK BERLIN also aims to promote networking between filmmakers who live in Berlin, enabling students to continue their professional development and find collaborators after they graduate and have made their first films. Filmnetzwerk Berlin is open to all filmmakers who live in Berlin and is a good place for our alumni to network in the city.
All of these projects are public events and they will be mentioned in the Events section.
Projects for Students
In addition to student film projects, which are an integral part of the curriculum, there are other projects for students that are realised with external partners.
Through external partners, projects that go beyond the curriculum can be realised, allowing students the freedom to explore different creative avenues (for example, DIGI.TALe for innovative audiovisual projects, or Fresh Craft, to develop web series in collaboration with students from Uganda and Ghana).
