Molly´s Way

On a foggy winter’s morning, the young Irishwoman, Molly (30) is at the train station of Walbrzych. She has come the whole way from Ireland to find Marcin. Marcin, who left her with the memory of one unforgettable night and a postcard from this small town. All that she knows is his first name and that he works in the coal industry. She is convinced that she will find him; her positive, glowing energy and the child in her belly carry her onwards. Soon it becomes clear the search will be more difficult than anticipated. Molly asks for a job as a cleaner in the shabby boarding house she is staying at. In the mornings she works. Afternoons she spends her time looking for Marcin in the mostly abandoned coalmines. Meanwhile she becomes indispensable at the hotel, both as an employee and as a person. She becomes especially attached to the three prostitutes living there, who provide the place with an important source of income. A series of joyous and painful experiences cause Molly to fight for her hope to find this man, to lose it and then find it again but in a way that she never would have expected.
