Hunting Grounds

Small business man Hans Rasche, 58, takes off from the world. As his company becomes a victim of the economic crisis, his old hunting-hut appears as a last refuge. But instead of finding silence and isolation, which he is seeking, he runs into his son Felix and his girlfriend. The relationship between father and son, who did not see each other for a long time, seems visibly tense. While Hans wants to be alone, Felix is seeking for attention and acceptance. The forests of east germany constitute a confusing and yet claustrophobic setting for an intimate play that reveals the desperation of a man whose life’s work and self-esteem is broken and who´s is nothing but looking for a way to end his life. Next to the father we get to know his son who constantly tries to follow his father´s footsteps and who is longing for his acceptance. Will Felix see through his fathers façade soon enough to be able to save him?
