Icebergs

Theo is sixty-six years old and lives in a numb world. He spends time in a hamam, secretly enjoying the feeling of being touched, and an old cinema, observing people in the dark. Damaged Lemons

Social worker Mavi feels torn between her own life, which is characterised by mental overload, and her physically chronically ill sister Nalin, for whom she feels responsible. While a lot of space is made for her sister's physical illness, Mavi's mental state is overlooked. In a moment of overwhelm, she tries to break away from her sister and in the heat of the moment locks her in the kitchen. On the run from home, she meets Roya in a bar. Roya appears to be free of any responsibilities and is on the way to a centre outside of town, where people come together in search of the questions that move them in life. Mavi follows Roya, moving further and further away from the person she usually has to be. But the further she moves away from her life, the more she is drawn into dissociative states of memories and her own perception. Her perception that is increasingly affected by stress and a guilty conscience. Slowly she loses touch with time and space. Until Nalin and Mavi's partner Khalil find her and take her to a clinic. In an environment that forces her to introspect, she breaks down until her psychological distress is recognised and she begins to find ways of dealing with her dissociative states.

The Islands

Tanya, Tim and little Ros, are staying at an idyllic holiday home in the middle of the forest. They rented it for one week but have already stayed for many more. Something happened that made them take refuge in the house where they came as tourists. They try to find a new rhythm, although the outside world is creeping closer and closer. They already lost water and electricity, expecting cell-reception to go next. The family is down to their last power bank and their electric car is almost out of battery. When Tim and Tanya start to ration their remaining food, they both realize a choice must be made. To stay there or go to town? Should they split up the family to protect the family?

Quiver

In a bubble of superficiality where she resides, Sandra carved out a sanctuary through her Sonic Flow: a movement practice transforming sound vibrations through physical expression. Once incredibly influential, Sandra now enters middle-age and she faces difficult choices to stay visible. Beneath the threat of fading relevance, a force within Sandra begins to stir: a portal to supernatural perception. The story of a woman’s transformation from visible to invisible as a story of adventure and not one of loss. The menopausal milestone of change as a turning point that can open possibilities for transformation. What are the limits of our feminine imaginations?
