Phantom Heist

Once upon a time, in a distant land in an unspecified future, there existed a totalitarian system that imposed unrequested and non-negotiable happy lives on its population. A group of resistance fighters, including an almost centenarian ghost, has gone underground. While they await the necessary explosives to bring down this system and restore freedom for people to explore their identities and shape their own lives, they themselves grapple with the challenges that this newfound freedom brings. Profound existential questions disrupt breakfast, and missing plates exacerbate their hunger. Amid their comically complicated coexistence, a resistance against the resistance suddenly emerges. They lose and confuse themselves completely, eventually leading them to their daring attack.

Dog Rose

Sofija (26) has been diagnosed with breast cancer and wants to reconnect with her younger sister, Sara (22), before beginning chemotherapy. She asks Sara to return with her to the family farm in Gruža, Serbia. Together, they pick rose hips for grandma’s jam - just like when they were children. But this is a pretext for Sofija to confide her fear of death and the hopes she has kept hidden. However, Sara simply cannot (or will not?) stay longer than just one weekend. Before Sara leaves, Sofija picks enough rose hips to make a jar of grandma’s jam.

Anyway: the art, the art

"Anyway: the art, the art" follows the theater group of the renowned director Stan who want to put together a play about the critical sides of the pharmaceutical industry. To support the actors' problems, Stan hires the psychotherapist Dr Franz. She is supposed to support Stan's actors and ensure that the production runs smoothly. Stan notices how she gives the team and actors the drug Zyprecs to make them addicted and to put the pharmaceutical industry in a good light. The actors gradually begin to suffer a nervous breakdown from the side effects of the medication, but the premiere is getting closer and closer. As a medical consultant, Dr Franz intervenes ever more deeply in the production processes and artistic work. In addition to power struggles and funny production ideas, the film deals with the question of how communication and art processes work among narcissistic artists. The camera follows an ensemble and connects the layers with a voice over from the director of the film and star photographer Edgar Herbst. The film shows on multiple levels how art and films are created, what happens behind the scenes and what many take for granted.

Violenta

Violenta: A purple planet where nature grows wild. All living beings share a communal synchronicity, balanced with their individual existence. One of the inhabitants dies, and the others perform a funerary ritual. In Violenta, love is expressed through eating each other in endosymbiosis. We experience a journey through the universe and microverse of this circular nature.

Lost in Helsinki

Actually we wanted to make a different film, but due to certain circumstances and a law change, we were not allowed to continue our journey and got stuck in Helsinki. Sara was reminded of many similar situations in her life, where she got rejected and was not allowed certain things so we decided to sum up some examples and combine documentation and animation as an excerpt and sample which stands for so many BIPOC people and their experiences.

The Future of the Past

The unnamed narrator goes on a journey that begins with the first space landing on the planet Earth and continues with conversations about the universe, politics, and hatred. She is like a ghost, as she returns to the places where she grew up; places that no longer exist and probably will never exist again. In some places, the narrator meets different people. The thought "The absence of the future has already begun" is revived in their conversations, as well as the consequences of the war and the questions of the coexistence of humanity with itself. The narrator dares to dream about the future while immersing us in the present, which has changed our future forever.
