INFO

The two-day workshop will introduce you to the field of fashion cinematography: What defines fashion? How can we showcase fashion through moving images? Where do we begin if we want to realize our own video? Starting by watching exemplary fashion films, discussing concepts, the necessary equipment, and the creative elements involved, you will then have the opportunity to produce your own fashion film. All you need to bring is a clothing piece and a camera (a phone works as well).

Julia von der Heide is a German photographer, videographer, and director specializing in fashion and portraiture based in Berlin and Paris. She studied communication design, with a focus on photography at the University of Applied Science and Arts in Dortmund and at the WDKA in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and worked with Nan Goldin for a year. Over the past few years, she has delved into the intersection of film and photography in fashion, producing fashion editorials that blend film stills and photographs, as well as transforming print magazines into moving images. From conceptualization and direction to production and editing, Julia explores every aspect of creating short films where stories are expressed through fashion and styling.
